This is a full day package. Unfortunately, some people choose not to take a guide and start the trail by taking a gravel access road that climbs at a 45º angle for 6.5 km.  From experience, we now take a bus to the beginning of the trail.

From the trail head, it is only a short distance to the lake. In late June or early July, a number of flower species can be seen in the meadows sometimes pushing their way through the snow reaching for the light.

Beyond this point there are several more lakes 3km to 5km away.
